Delta Air Lines Expands Atlanta-to-Athens Flights for Summer 2025

Delta-A330-900neo

Delta Air Lines is gearing up for a record-breaking summer in 2025 with its largest transatlantic expansion to date. The Atlanta-based carrier will increase its nonstop service between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Athens International Airport (ATH) from seven to 13 weekly flights, nearly doubling its capacity on this popular route.

Flight Schedule Highlights

Delta will operate two daily flights most days, except Tuesdays, during the peak travel months of June through August 2025. The schedule includes:

  • Outbound Flights (ATL → ATH)

    • DL296: Departs 15:50, Arrives 09:30 (6 weekly)
    • DL222: Departs 17:15, Arrives 10:55 (7 weekly)
  • Inbound Flights (ATH → ATL)

    • DL297: Departs 09:10, Arrives 14:35 (7 weekly)
    • DL223: Departs 11:40, Arrives 17:10 (6 weekly)

While Delta used its larger 339-seat Airbus A350-900s on the route in 2024, it will deploy the 281-seat Airbus A330-900neos (A330neo) in 2025, offering a total of 47,208 seats across 168 flights between June 1 and August 31. This marks a significant increase compared to 2024's 92 flights and 31,188 seats over the same period.

Part of a Broader Expansion

The A330neo will play a crucial role in Delta’s summer operations, covering both transatlantic and long-range domestic routes. In October 2024, the A330neo fleet was actively serving destinations like Amsterdam, Rome, Paris, and Athens, as well as key domestic routes such as Atlanta to Los Angeles and New York JFK to Los Angeles.

Delta’s expanded Atlanta-to-Athens service underscores its commitment to meeting growing demand for European travel and solidifying its position as a leader in transatlantic connectivity. With more flights and increased capacity, travelers will have greater flexibility to explore Greece and beyond.
